Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works Limited (KS&EW) is a military business and defense contractor for the Pakistani government located in West Warf, Karachi, Sindh.
KSEW Limited, Pakistan's oldest shipyard, provides general heavy engineering equipment as well as shipbuilding and ship repair services. The Pakistan Navy, it has produced cargo ships, oil tankers, tugboats, support vessels, landing craft, ships, and submarines.
It also builds and repairs for a diverse variety of clients, including the Pakistan National Shipping Corporation, the Karachi Port Trust, the Port Qasim Authority, and the private sector in Pakistan. The corporation's only stakeholder is the Government of Pakistan, which is administratively administered by the Ministry of Defence.
It began as a Pakistan Industrial Development Corporation (PIDC) project in the mid-1950s. It was later incorporated as a public limited company with a managing director and a board of directors in 1957.
There is a ship lift with a capacity of 7881 tons, three-block production facilities, three shipbuilding berths, two dry docks, a machine shop, grit blasting, a painting facility, a transfer system, and 13 parking places.
